Chris Dransfield - BuildLondon


Chris is currently Programme Director of ‘BuildLondon’, the first regional construction specific brokerage service for London, working with major infrastructure and other projects such as; Crossrail, Tideway, Network Rail, and other major developments across the region. He is also the industry lead for the ‘Buildforce’ initiative, funded by CITB, aimed at improving career pathways into the construction sector, for ex forces personnel.  

Formerly, Chris was the employability and Brokerage Manager for Crossrail, leading on supply chain engagement, community partnerships and local labour recruitment. 

Chris has worked on major regeneration initiatives across the Greater London area for over 22 years, at both operational and managerial levels. He has extensive experience of strategic planning, development and delivery of employment and training initiatives and interventions. He led on the development and delivery of employment and skills strategies in Haringey, Hackney and Waltham Forest, including bringing into place a dedicated construction training facility in East London

He is an accredited Prince2 practitioner and a member of the Chartered institute of Public Relations. As a keen scuba diver, he is also passionate about marine protection and conservation



John Westby – Clarion Housing Association


John Westby is the Head of Fundraising and Business Development at Clarion Housing Group, the largest housing association in the UK.  Responsible for national fundraising strategy, John leads and coordinates bid writing activity across the Community Investment team aimed at meeting a minimum annual target level of £4m. In 2015-16 he submitted bids valued at £20m and achieved £16.7m with a bid success rate of 87%.  John also has expertise in business planning, contract management and contract compliance for major government contracts, including ESF and ERDF

Jacqui Wordsworth - Gateway to Sustainability


Jacqui Wordsworth is Director at Gateway to Sustainability Ltd which supports organisations to develop, bid for and deliver projects which create social and economic impact. Jacqui has over 20 years’ experience of developing and delivering successful employment and skills project in both public and private sector.  

She led the Gateway to Industry programme at CEME in East London providing business support, apprenticeships and schools engagement activities to 15,000 young people, 400 businesses, creating 500 jobs. Jacqui was also responsible for the development of the LDA’s 2017-13 Adult employment and Skills programme to support 32,000 Londoners and the Mayor’s Apprenticeship campaign. 

At Carillion, Jacqui led the development of social impact programmes for local authority contracts, including the creation of new skills and employment pathways into the Green Economy across the West Midlands and Sussex.  A Chartered Mechanical Engineer, Jacqui previously worked for Shell International in the UK and overseas in their downstream oil refining business. 

GtS current clients include the Open Society Foundation, Green Skills Partnership, Women into Construction, private sector construction employers and FE colleges; helping them successfully bid for UK & EU funded programmes and public sector contracts to deliver local social, economic and environmental impact.

Kath Moore - Women In Construction


Kath Moore has 30 years experience of working in the construction industry. She is a qualified carpenter, who has worked on site, ran her own business, and taught carpentry. She was instrumental in setting up and delivering the Women Into Construction project on the Olympic Park, and following the success of this project, developed Women Into Construction (WIC), a community interest company supporting women wishing to work in the construction and infrastructure industries. WIC has trained 1,200 women, brokered 300 of these into work-placements and over 600 into paid employment. It is now working in partnership with Crossrail, Tideway and HS2, to increase gender diversity on these projects. Kath believes passionately in encouraging and supporting women to participate and build careers in these exciting, rewarding, and well-paid industries.
